The Lebanese People Break the Internet #TelhassoTize

If we were to summarize the past month on the Lebanese Social Media scene, three titles would definitely stand out: Parliamentary Extension, Corrupt Food and Kim Kardashian Breaks the Internet!

Mix all three together, add some Lebanese frustration and a lot of creativity, you get one emerging Social Media campaign about to swipe the local internet sphere off its feet and kick some ASS. Literally.

#TelhassoTize

The campaign has been tracked back to Kimmy Zouki who boldly posted a photo of his ass with the below status on his personal Facebook Wall.

“For all the misery… i say 128 ‪#‎telhassotize‬.Tag 3 of your friends who are fed up with the government for whatever reason and are ready to offer their butts for a good cause.” – Kimmy Zouki

One of the challenged friends Daniel Georr, already joined the campaign and posted his very own contribution!

“To all those who want elections but who would have voted for the same f… i offer my butt for a good cause. and invite everyone to follow the lead of my friend Kimmy Zouki “an ass and example to follow” ‪#‎tehassotize‬” – Daniel Georr

Will this be the new #StripforJackie ? Only days, and the viral power of Social Media, can tell.

What is for sure, is that we live in days where traditional complaints, nagging and demonstrations no longer work; maybe, just maybe, daring, earth shattering, ass whipping campaigns can achieve the needed impact!

HAhahahahahahaah this made me laugh so much…. the best campaign yet from the lebanese suffocating people maybe the gov will sue these asses. As creative and strong this message is I still doubt any change will happen 🙁

thanks so much for the support.
hopefully we break balls with this.
we need more people to engage. they can have a bigger sign to cover the ass as long as the message comes across and their voices reach.

    love&light

Thank you for this initiative Kimmy. It’s such daring creative messages that make change inevitable.

I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but seriously, this campaign is as useless as common nagging…why and how is it going to break balls? Please enlighten me as i’d be the first one to roll my sleeves up and pitch in. Other than the sympathetic art direction, i see nothing to it :/ and when you talk about daring, don’t screen comments and replies, just let the posts come up directly, if fearlessness, bluntness and honnesty are your intention…

Thanks for your comment Nathalie! It’s quiet normal that such a campaign gets conflicting opinions.

From my point of view, anything that gets people talking, thinking and out of the coma is good.

Yes, taking action is all that matters, i fully agree, but with extension of parliament once and twice not sure there is something that can really be done…except a revolution…and what better way to trigger those than by crazy creative ideas.

!00% with you BOSS all the way following you …. people like Nathalie like to watch their country burn without doing anything about it … thats why we’re in this situation today…. c tres triste

Not that i don’t intensely share the general opinion against the uselessness of our government and politicians but i don’t think this “campaign” has any impact whatsoever. It is as useless as the nagging and the complaining. It just takes on another form….Yes, “telhasso tize”…eh, w ba3den? Chou 3melna? What’s going to push people into action? The author of the campaign prides himself in daring and whatever…what’s so daring? And what is daring if it’s not coupled with actual “action”…ridiculous…

Guys I really love your campaign, and wana post too my butt in our politicians shitty faces asking them “telhasso tize”, same time agree also with Nathalie that we definitely need action to topple this bunch of thieves that have been ruling us for sooooo many years and bin the cause behind our 1975 civil war. If they allow themselves all this freedom, its becoz they think we are sheeps. Where are the people who went to protest in 2005? Seems everyone is dead… we shouls replicate the ukrainian revolution asap..

My ass is more valuable than your faces (dear lebanese politics), at least it has a benefit of letting out unwanted undigested shit. Your faces do not progress in anything. On the contrary, you have led all the creative people out of this country, you have forced us to work like slaves in debt for your own purposes, you fund both sides of the war, you created a theater divided into 18 sects and all the ignorant ones believe your lies, they actually think Hizbollah and Israel are two different sides. Hahah i laugh at your eternal sufferings! When you die, you wont even know what hit you, you are just biological robots, there is no human in you. If there were any 1 percent chance left for you, well there isnt. That makes me sleep at night, so go ahead, believe the illusion, for you will never enter the real realities…

Yeh right, let’s see if you dare to show your faces and say it, they will grab you all from your ASS and putt under investigation and close your lips for minimum period of 4 days and nights in the jail inder that ugly bridge in Ashrafiyeh , w ba3den btotla3o “le7sin tizkoun bi lsenkoun”. If you wanna do something with big impact, let’s strike , let’s” move our ASS”. that’s it.

Nathalie harfouche well said…this shock value stuff for the sake of so called ‘change’ isn’t actually doing anything, except promoting more lovers of the male physique to check their news feed today…thus won’t start a conversation nor revolution, there’s nothing factual, moving nor insightful behind this. Let’s stop lying to ourselves young lebos – and stop bring entertained by this pseudo good we think we’re doing, we’re adding to our own complacency through entertainment…
